My dd would really have fun meeting some kids locally who are pumping. She's thinking about it (we're trying to speed the decision along ;) ), and it seems to help her to see other kids with pumps.

My son is pumping! We are around Kalamazoo. My friend, BrendaK, has a son pumping too. We are about 5 minutes apart. What side of the state are you in?

Michelle, we're in Bellevue, just NE of Battle Creek. We go to MSU/KCMS and see Dr. Draznin. I saw him through my teen years and I don't ever want to leave him, but if he doesn't "let" my dd get a pump within the next few months, it just may happen... (see my other thread intro and questions).
I see you homeschool, that's awesome! I hs Grace for K, she's now in our church's school. I will probably hs our 3yo for pre and K too.

We live in Michigan, the downriver area. My son goes to Children's hospital in Detroit. We used to go to Beaumont hospital but it wasn't the right fit for him.....

We also see Draznin! We had about a year of asking about the pump before we went on it. I say that you might just have to go in and not leave it so much up to him. I know he has to write the script, but... I went in there last week and said, "So, we are going to try the CGMS after we get our new pump!" He said okay.
I will add that we talked about how soon to put patients on a pump and he definetely wants them out of "the honeymoon" before he puts them on a pump. I don't know why, makes no sense to me. Of course, I think we had our honeymoon BEFORE we were diagnosed.
How old is Grace?
My sister lives over on 10 Mile by Marshall. Maybe we can get together sometime?

He agreed to pumping today! I called Dr. D and got my nerve up and asked and he said yes! Wahoooooo! I'm so stinking excited! I'm gonna make another post to 'announce' it too, but man am I happy!!!
