It's my understanding that the alarm will sound 72 hours after the sensor start to alert that you need to change sensors. I would like to get as many days out of them as I can (of course)

Do we just silence the alarm and continue to let the sensor do it's work? Do we charge it at that point? How do we know when it's time is up?

At 72 hours you will get an alarm that says "sensor end". Just go to the sensor menu, scroll down to "start new sensor" and accept it.

The sensor screen will say "start", just like when you put the new sensor in, but it will alarm and ask for a blood sugar within about 5-10 minutes. It will be right back on track!:)

After the second 72 hours, (day 7) you will have to pull the transmitter off of the sensor and then reattach it, (very carefully). This will cause a 2 hour warm up period, so no readings for 2 hours.

I can usually tell it's time to change a sensor when the readings start to get too far off, or it starts giving me "cal error" alarms. When the ISIG drops below 5 the sensor life is usually over, (the ISIG is the signal coming from the sensor, you can see it on the sensor status screen)

I hope that makes sense... I had my wisdom teeth out and I'm pretty drugged!:p
