Today, the kids' father will be here to pick up the 3 older boys. He will also be dropping off the cats and dog. I haven't seen him in person in a year. We have all been on edge as we near this visit. Some from excitement and some from not wanting to see him.
I am trying to put my Pollyana spin on this and stay positive. I am going to wear the outfit that makes me happy. I keep reminding myself that this is my home and I picked it out for me and the kids; that this day and week will pass too. And when it is all over, we have the cats and dog :)
I may be posting a vent later. STBX is notorious for back-handed compliments and blatant digs.
I am going to go clean my kitchen now and pack the kids for their trip.

Just remember that it doesn't matter what he thinks about the house, your clothes or how clean the kitchen is. Just be happy for the kids and polite to him and ignore any comments. You can do this. I'll be thinking of you.:)

Sara, your in my thoughts and prayers. I know it won't be easy, but you've definitely go the right attitude. You're a strong woman, you'll make it through the day and beyond.

You have grown so much in the time that I've known you here on the board. Remember that! You are not the same person that he knows and his comments no longer have the power to hurt you. Remember that every belittling comment he makes is really about HIM and his desire to control you. But the comments have nothing really to do with who you are or what you've become!

Remember this: No one can make you feel inferior without your permission. (I believe Eleanor Roosevelt said this.) Do not give him permission. You have done some amazing things this past year.

Remember any comment he throws at you is made out of jealousy!!! You are a great mom to your boys and a great person who has bought a wondreful house and turned it into a home, you are going to school, you take great care of Deacon, have the support of your parents. Heck what isn't there to be jealous about :D!!!
Seriously, head high, shoulders back and STBX armor activated!! Go get 'em girl!!!!

You deal with your sons diabetes so dealing with this as........I mean your STBX is nothin:) Hold your head high honey, you have every right too

I hope it went uneventful by the time you read this...Most likely he will be floored that you have what you do and how far YOU have come over this past year...You have so much to be proud of and you deserve it so dont let his remarks bring you down..now you can really toss him out that door of YOUR home if he does...:)
