It's here, in my hand - WOW!

I talked with the MM nurse last night and it looks like we will meet at the hospital one day next week for training.

Reagan's nurse and Endo want to sit in with us. I am glad to have them, as long as it doesn't turn into a circus with my baby as the main act!

We are the first to have the new sensor and I am pretty sure that we are the first pediatric to have the CGM.

It's exciting and scary to me all at the same time.

I asked the nurse what the youngest child was that she had put a CGM on, her answer was 6. That didn't make me feel too great. But I just can't help but think that this is going to mean much better days ahead for us. Once we get it all figured out.

Hopefully she will call with a time soon.

I will let you know how it goes. Keep you fingers crossed for us. And if you have any pointers, please do share :) I will be happy to post them and take them along to the training.

Fantastic news! Is it really the size of a quarter??? I can't wait to hear your thoughts on using it.

Congrats!!!!! I am willing to fight to the death to get our insurance to cover this! And if they won't there are always credit cards :cwds:

I'm excited for you. I would really like one but am trying to convince my husband it will be a good thing. Plus I need to call my insurance company - I don't feel like fighting with them right now. Congratulations.

Yay! How exciting. I saw it when the rep was at our house this week; it is small! :D :D

Hopefully, insurance will start paying for these real soon! :cwds:

I know it can be awkward to have a bunch of people there for the training and everyone is watching your child's bottom. When we were trained, there were two nurses from the clinic that asked if they could come sit in on the training. It was me, my son, and three other women. It is a good thing that my son doesn't get embarrassed very easily! They were just excited and wanted to actually see if and how it works.

We got our Minilink today and got Braden hooked up. It really does look more comfortable. My son said it was nice to not have all the tape. It is also much less noticeable under his clothers. I can imagine it will be easier when pulling up his pants as well. I'm just glad it's finally here!

someone post a minilink pic...I saw one posted some time ago but cant seem to find it now. Question: Why are the insurance companies bucking paying for it when it seems that it would much cheaper over time than the strips...or am I wrong?

Secondly, what is the cost of the insertion portion and how often do you change?

I hooked Emma up this afternoon too. What an improvement!
I put one piece of Tegaderm over the top and it's just a little lump on her hip!:)

Barry if you search for "minilink" there should be several threads that have pictures.

Here's the system;
