OK, I have a completely OT question! :D

My dd would like to get rid of the small bits of facial hair that she has on each side of her lip. They aren't much, but they are dark like the rest of her hair and are really beginning to bother her. I just hate the idea of waxing at not quite eleven years old, and I think she'd probably jump out of the chair and scream terribly after one side was done!!!

Any good suggestions for how we might get rid of this annoyance for her with the least possible trauma?

Thanks in advance!

I would get one of those little personal shavers. It just takes off the peachfuzz without hurting or causing her to have to continue shaving. I use one on my chin for those tiny stray hairs that seem to pop up when you get older. I think they are less than 10 bucks at any drugstore.

These little trimmers are great. http://www.amazon.com/Conair-LT3RCS-LT3B-Ladies-Trimmer/dp/B0006UTYTC/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1244580542&sr=8-8

You can get them at Walmart, Target, there right around $10.00, they work great.

I have used Nair for the face if I wasn't able to get out for a upper lip wax. Just don't leave on too long or she may get burned.

A few hairs? I'd think tweezers would be the best. Not fun, but no chemicals and she can control how much to do at one sitting.;)

my sister bleaches her mustache. That would be my suggestion. To start "shaving" already would be a lot of upkeep.

I would say to either bleach or tweeze. Maybe if you use ice to numb the area a bit in won't hurt as bad.

I use on my daughter (12) and my self those personal shavers too. Those shavers are great. I use them to trim my sons necks and my husbands too. And he has thick hair on his neck. :D I got mine from target. I think it is a remmington and it was 12.99..I think.

Jolen Bleach. It has been around for YEARS. I used it when I was younger and my 13 y.o daughter uses it now.

Jolen Bleach brings back some great memories ;) I used this too when I was younger but as I got older the hair got thicker (I'm a dark Italian) so I switched over too waxing or Nair.

Electrolysis?

I don't know about electrolysis at ten!! Maybe later in life...

We decided to try the Smooth Away that you see advertised on TV. It's basically a very fine sandpaper that you rub against the hair and it comes off. It worked with no ill effects that we can see! I don't think I'd ever do my legs with it, though - it would take forever!!
