We actually just went a bought another one..We have a big one for the kitchen and we went today and got a small one to take with us places..We went to a restaurant tonight and used it..people probably thought I was crazy weighing his cornbread but oh well, it works..When we first got our big one I said if we use it for nothing but fruit it was worth every penny...I'm sure you'll enjoy it..

Congratulations on ordering the scale. If you want to have two good places to learn about carb factors. They are on the Parents Message Board on the American Diabetes Website athttp://www.diabetes.org There is a thread called Carb Factors 101 pinned to the top of the message board. There is one person on the message board named Gail who has a blog called Butterfly Gal that has several good links to food databases, and carb factor articles, etc.

The other place is [URL="http://www.diabetesselfmanagement.com"]http://www.diabetesselfmanagement.com[/URLook under the magazine archives and under Nutriton and Meal Planning there is a very good article about Carb Factors.

I really prefer using carb factors to other methods of carb counting because it is accurate and easy to do once you get the hang of it. There are a lot of experts on the parents messaage board on the American Diabetes Website that can help you if you have any questions.

We have had ours for a week now and I really like it. It is great for fresh fruit and pasta. Also good for casseroles.

It's the best 100 bucks I've spent on anything to make diabetes easier. No more measuring cups (for the most part). Just pour and go! I haven't mastered making a homemade casserole and counting carbs with it yet- that's next.

DEAFMACK....Thanks for the tips...I will definetly look into them

BOGUSROGUS....I bought the salter 1450 scale as that is the model I heard such great reviews about. It has a 10 year warranty so IMHO it has to be a pretty good product!!
