I know we have had this discussion on here before. My 12dd has been having stomach pain for a month or so. I have suspected several things that it could be. I have her test bg every now and then on one of our extra meters. Tonight about 1 hour after eating it was 159, 2 1/2 hours after eating it was 140(she had a few sweet tarts) When we got home she drank some Pepsi, she tested it went to 94.
Are these #'s questionable. I realize they are not high. Our pedi endo told us once anything over 130 is to high.

Has she been tested for celiac re the stomach issues? Does anyone know the the prevelance of celiac in siblings of children with type one diabetes?

I've wondered the same thing about my non D child. Here is what I have found.

Hope it helps, hope it isn't anything to worry about, either.

You can always ask the Endo and see what he/she says. However, I can tell you this: When I was taking the required classes at our Endo's office for D care, the CDE and another person (both non-D) wore a CGM during the 2 hour class and passed the receiver around so we could see the new technology. They ranged anywhere from 90-160 during the class. At one point, someone called out to the CDE that she was 160 and she said, "Really? Oh my....I wonder if I have diabetes?" and the Endo laughed and said "No, those fluctuations are totally normal!" She was only 160 for a few seconds, and said she was nervous, but I wonder what she would have thought had she decided to do a fingerstick and get a 160 at that precise time?
So I guess I'm thinking your daughter's numbers aren't abnormal.
You can have her tested for Celiac, as others have suggested. One can have celiac without diabetes. My youngest daughter had a lot of stomach pain until we discovered (after many invasive tests!) that she has significant reflux. Prevacid took care of that. Stomach pain is pretty vague and can mean a lot of different things, most of which are benign. If it continues, take her to a pediatric GI doc for some testing.
