I would like to brag a bit about my small town. Three of my kids are participating in Spring travel soccer. The team Molly played today drove over two hours to play us. They only had 8 players to play us(they field 6 at a time)...but one forgot her shoes. :( That meant they'd only have one sub in 89 degree heat. After I called my daughter here at home, I found we didn't have the girl's size but another parent said they had that size and she went and got them. The parents of the other team were very grateful and a bit taken back by our efforts. really..it's what we should be teaching our children. Sportsmanship. We ended up losing that game btw...:o I had explained to the other team's parents that one of my 16 yr old son's teammates forgot his shin guards for a game and he had to wear my 9 yr old daughter's shin guards b/c there was no other option for him. It happens..we all need to chip in and help each other out...anyway..there's my happy story for the day!
