Our last two sensors didn't seem to have a very strong signal, which seemed odd since we've never had any trouble with them. I had to d/c twice on the last one because the sensor Isig kept dropping down too low.
Yesterday during Emma's nap I got a weak signal alarm, so I cleared it from the pump, but I could still hear beeping. It took me a minute to figure out that it was coming from the transmitter. You know that little beep you hear when you connect it to the sensor, it was doing that every 3 seconds. Bizarre! When I looked at the Isig is said 0.0. Not good.
I pulled the sensor and put in a new, but when I connected the transmitter it started beeping again, over and over... It never got a signal from the sensor.

So I called MM and they express shipped a new one, and a box of 4 replacement sensors.:) It should be here before 10am today. Yeah for great customer service!

Since I had *just* stuck her I covered the sensor site with tegaderm and skipped the bath last night. I hated to pull a perfectly good sensor and throw it in the trash! I'm hoping that when the new one gets here in a few hours I can just pop it on and be back in business!

Define 'too low' please. Like under 5 you mean?

But Amy the pump was supposed to give the LOW TRANSMTR and then the BAD TRANSMTR alarms. Didnt you have these alarms?

Yes, when the Isig was "low" it was under 5. I looked at at one point and it said 3.2, way too low.
The weak signal alarm is supposed to happen, and it did when the Isig was 0.0, but until then it kept giving me readings. The Isig was going up and down.
I never got a bad transmitter alarm, I guess because the transmitter was still working, but had an electrical short. I think the beeping caused me to d/c before the pump could figure out that the transmitter was broken.

Just wanted to update that our new transmitter was here the next day. The new one is working great!!:)

Payam,
I don't normally pay too much attention to the Isig, but I always look at it if the numbers seem off. It is the signal coming from the sensor. I've read that the Isig should be near 10% of the blood sugar, (mg/dl), so if her blood sugar is 140 it should be around 12-16. When it drops really low or is really far off from 10% of her blood sugar I know the sensor is having problems. This was the first time I'd ever seen it below 5, so I knew something was wrong with the signal.
