I am looking for parents that are doing college courses online.

I am just looking into it and want to see how others are doing with it.

It's tough - I have taken as well as taught online courses! It is tough, but the good news is that the degrees are becoming more accepted professionally everyday.

The tough part is that you need to be disciplined to get the work done - other then that - it is great if you don't need the social interaction!

don't take biology online.:D
I dropped out. the amount of hours I put into those labs, i think it would have been quicker, easier to just go into a class. and this was before D came into my life. I had tons of time back then

My dh got his B.A. online, and now he is working on his Master's. Make sure you go to a reputable school, there are tons of scams out there, and prices will vary depending on which school, expensive doesn't mean better it just means more expensive.

DH is doing UMASS online. He has classes twice a week, but if he misses the live class, he can catch the archived discussion.

What do you want to study? Do you have a specific degree in mind?

A few of my classes are online(actually, just one right now..it is more expensive then traditional classes). Enables me to do more, and still have some flexibility between work and life.

You definitely have to want to take the class, and participate. It is easy to get sidetracked(at least for me....short attention span:p;)). However, I do enjoy the fact I can sign in at anytime that works for me.

I am not sure if your state offers a similar program, but out here there is a thing called CCConline(Colorado Community Colleges Online). You register at your 'home college'(any of the community colleges in Colorado), and then you can sign up for some online classes at CCC. I am a student at my 'home college', but I just take classes through CCC. They offer pretty much all your main courses. I am in a transfer program to move on to a 4 year once I get my A.A. All credits apply to most 4 years out here.

I also know that Colorado State Univeristy is offering an 'Online School' now, too. I have a feeling Online Colleges are going to be very popular.

I am meeting with the consulor at the local community college next week, they do have online classes available too, so I may do a combo depending on what I decide to study. I am thinking either computer science or becoming a nurse.

I am currrently getting my M.Ed in Reading online with Edinboro University in PA. I LOVE it!! We do 2 classes per semester (1 for the first half and 1 for the second half so each class is only about 8 weeks long). I have weekly reading and posting to do but it is not overwhelming. We do have a few scheduled chats in the 8 weeks. It seems like I usually have about 2 projects to do per class - one easy and one harder/more in-depth. I work as a sub full-time and have 2 D kids (and one non) with busy baseball lives right now and I get it all done.
