Symptoms of something else?

Reagan has terribly dry cheeks, and very brittle toenails.

Just last week, two of her nails split. :(

Poor thing.

Her pedi has us putting Auquaphor on her cheeks, but it doesn't seem to help. We have tried to increase her milk thinking that she doesn't have enough calcium.

I am just wondering if there is something that we are missing?

Does anyone else have these troubles?

Have they checked her thyroid function?

I was just discussing this exact thing with my mother who has hypothyroid. Emma has extremely dry skin and chapped cheeks, and no amount of moisturizer helps. It could just be winter, but I'm going to have her thyroid tested next week since it's never been done.

You might mention it to her pedi or endo and see what they think. Has she ever had lab work done for thyroid disorders?

I asked pedi about it and he said use Aquaphor.

We were just at clinic and didn't mention it. Though if it's something to look for, I am suprised they didn't ask about it.

We will ask next time.
