I was wondering who trained you? How did the training go?

We trained with our MM rep. She is one of the Diabetes Nurse Specialists for the company and she was great! Her daughter has been on the sensor since it was released, so she's full of great info!
I don't know if all the reps can do training for cgms or not, but I would guess that most have been trained. Finding a trainer who actually uses their product... priceless!
She did a long training session fro us when we used the Guardian RT, but on the new one I just talked to her on the phone, (not recommended by MM ;)), since it's basically the same sensor/transmitter setup I felt comfortable doing it on my own.
She has come to my house since we started to look over our charts, bring me some extra sensors and replace my inserter. She's fabulous!

my Endo also has one, but knew me to be "technically inclined" and gadget savvy.

Later, when the rep was in town, we met at a clinic where I could "share my experience" and be a demo of how it works "in vivo". He turned me on to the "love handles" alternative site.

I guess with regard to using Mastisol, Topicaine, etc. .... I am the trainer!:)

Our minimed rep trained us too, and did a great job! We love it!

The Minimed nurse also trained us. She trained us on the pump when we started it as well. The training took about an hour. A couple of nurses from our clinic also came over to see the training as well since they hadn't been trained on it before. I had read a lot about it so it was more just hand on training on insertion that I needed.

It took my son wearing a couple of the sensors to really get used to how it works. Then we just had to make some adjustments with the tape on our own. The transmitter tape that is sold specifically for the MM transmitters just didn't work well for my son. It caused a lot of skin irritation. So, we have just played with different things on our own to figure out what works best for us.
