Ah I'm starting college on Tuesday.
My classes are
Anatomy
Pharmacology
Medical Terminology
Software Applications
Any advice? I know to bring food with me and let the professors know about my situation.
Dont worry about it. My son has type 1 diabetes and has been attending the community college for 2 years. He has never told a teacher about the diabetes, as it has never been relevant. College is so different ie: everyone has food in class and teachers do not care. If you are sick because of diabetes or sick because of a cold-it doesn't matter. Some teachers make accomondations and some do not- it doesnt matter. Just remember that everyone has something in life to deal with, you are just the same as everyone else.
That has been our experience, hope it helps. Although things will be different next year when he moves away to live in a dorm!
Good luck to you!

You should make an appointment with the disability services office, and let them know about your situation. that way you are dealing with the department that is best equipped to tell you what steps to follow to make sure you get any accommodations you may need.

Make sure you take along supplies so you can deal with any issues that may come up. I suggest you mention to the professors that you have D. That way if you need to snack or have a problem, they won't be too surprised. Will you be living at home or in the dorms?
My son started college this past Fall and loves it.

I will be living at home.
I'm going to a community college about 30 minutes away; depending on traffic.

You'll do fine! It's exciting! And if you need anything, I'm sure mom and dad are just a phone call away.

Yeah I heard college is exciting. And some people say they hate it lol.
My sister and brother in law live like 10 minutes from the college so that will be good!
Thank gosh I have spring break!

My advice is to stay in school.
Diabetes is just a glitch in the system, so get it straight at the disabilities often and go forward boldly.
I'm 41 and started back to school this fall. I wish I was your age. It's harder to remember everything and do everything when you are a mom.
Are you going to be a pharmacist or pharm tech?
Anatomy is a killer. I have A & P right now. I'm going for nursing.
I figure I'll get through it and then I won't have to do it again. Keep this in mind when you have a really tough class.
School is a blast. It's a social event for me, but I'm also a serious student. Awesome study group. HIlarious study group.
Make up silly names for things. I used the bone tune for the bone tissue components. Start with an appendage, move to the middle and then the skull. This is the easiest way to go about memorizing the skeletal system. Use a calendar, break apart what you have to know by what date so that you are not overwhellmed. If you look at the whole thing you could freak.
Good luck to you! These are the best times, enjoy them.

I was thinking about nursing.
