busy last few days.. with question [Archive] - Children with Diabetes Forums

Ok.. we have been BUSY the last few days.... as of today charlize is offically 6 years old.... Just in the last week we have had 2 sick kids, karate, girlscouts, school, We have had a mini family reunion friday adn on sunday( all at my house of course) her birtday party... and now today her real b-day, adn going to do stuff as a family later on... ALL in all.. im exhausted... WE did have a weird low..... i figure it was due to excitment of all the activities at girlscouts, then with all the family around.. BUT charlize bloodsugar dropped to 35.........:eek: no symtoms at all... she has never been that low with me around.. only at school... IT was corrected and fixed easily.. and all in all no problmes.. but 35 OMG........ we only had one other LOW down to 56, the next day.. that was it... IM still curious what caused the 35.... befor that happed her Bloodsugar was 268.. I did not correct, since we where at girlscouts an she was active.... figured shed come down a bit... she had a cupcake, correct it.. then bam 35 2.5 hours later....

OH and on saterday, the weirdest thing happened.. her pump went in suspend mode by itself for about 40 min's befor she felt it vibrate... IT was strange.... i had given her a bolus for icecream at 6:50, locked it... put it back in her pump pack.. i was with her the whole time, she never touched it..then at 7:40 she was driving in my friends car, and she told her to call me immediately, her pump was viabrating... I checked it and it was in suspend mode......:confused: I check the time it went in that mode and it was at 7:00 pm... IT seemed to have done this all on its own... we where in the middle of the mall having ice cream for her birtday party.....

Has that happened to any one else??

I think I would call Animas on that one.

I did get a msg on William's pump a few weeks ago about "call Animas' but I don't recall that the pump suspended. I think it actually reset itself and they said that was normal if something failed an internal check.

I would not like the thought of the pump suspending without alarming! I would definitely want them to take a look at it. William had several problems here and there with his 1st pump (we have a replacement now) - the replacement seems more reliable.
