Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Lauren and my 2.5 year old son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on December 1, 2006.

I am really glad to have found this site and I know I will have lots of questions and hope to learn a lot from all of you.

Welcome, sorry you had to join the club. This is a wonderful place to learn and get support. My daughter, Abby, was diagnosed in June of '05 at 4 yrs old. We are now coming up on our 1 year anniversary of pumping!

I could not have gotten through those first few months without the help and support of the wonderful people here.

I am also new to this site and love the information. I could easily get stuck here all day reading threads.
I know diabetes is new to you and wanted to tell you it does get less overwhelming with time and practice. There will be days that you feel like you can't do this anymore........but you can. Just know what you are feeling is normal and your not alone!
Welcome and ask away :p

Welcome! My son just turned 3 and was diagnosed last April - almost 9 months ago now. I found this forum in Sept and have soaked up so much information and emotional support. I call the community "my people" whenever I share information with my husband ... as in, "well, my people suggested ...." or, "My people were just talking about that ... some said this and others said that." It serves to crack up my husband and to give credit to the wonderful people here who have given so much help and support.

Looking forward to your questions and posts.

Welcome- My son Ethan also 2 1/2 diagnosed 11-21-06. Looks like we have alot in common. We are in the Seattle area. Everyone on this site has been so helpful to me (even though we don't want to be here). My sanity has been restored knowing that I am not the only one going crazy sometimes. I am glad you found this site.
