This is both new research AND treatment for a few very lucky kids, so I'm putting in this "Research" Thread to point at the complete posting I just put in "Parents of Children with Type 1":
A small number of kids who were diagnosed immediately after birth (age < 6 months), might NOT have beta cell destruction, and might be able to QUIT TAKING INSULIN by instead treating the problem of Potassium "leaking out" from their beta cells.
Researcher estimates perhaps only 2000 such kids in the USA, but if your child was diagnosed really young, I think it's worth a close look!
