Whenever I insert the cannula it hurts for a couple minutes afterward. I try all different places and they seem not to make a difference. Any suggestions?

What infusion set are you using?

It hurts my son until a failr amount of insulin is injected. Try giving a bolus of a unit or so, then eating a snack to cover it. My son claims this works really well.

we have been through a few different types of sets. What we are now using is the silouhette and i got some EMLA cream which numbs the site and leave it on 20 min before inserting and that helps.

My daughter says that there's a great deal of difference on levels of pain depending how relaxed she is.

She now sits quietly until she's relaxed enough - and that seems to be less painful!

are you using an insertion device? I find the insertion devices make it more painful so i don't use one. try numbing w/ ice or a cream.
