How is everyone who was expecting the ice or snow?
School is closed here. We do still have power but I here some did lose power. The outlaws were supposed to be picking up Alex and Sebi after school today but I am unsure whether that will still happen. The outlaws drive in just about anything so I am still awaiting their decision.
I am relieved that I do not have to go to all the parties today but frankly I wish they were in school today. I am already having some of them do busy work.

One of my brothers' schools is closed today, the two other school aged brothers grumbled about theirs being open, but they are in school. We have about three powdery inches and full power; doesn't look like such a big deal to me.
My oldest brother flew back from college yesterday and the youngest two are already plotting about how not to let College Brother get bored. Oh no!

We are just to the west of you in Iowa. We got 10 inches of snow last night, and 5 inches the day before. School was canceled, and it's COLD!

Lanae,
Down here in Des Moines we got 2 inches of snow on top of sleet and freezing rain. No school here, either. Even Des Moines public schools canceled, that's nearly unheard of.
My sister still wants to brave it for some last minute shopping so we are going to hit the Hallmark store in a bit. YIKES!

We got the freezing rain Thursday night but didn't get the snow storm that was forecast last night. The freezing rain did knock out power to about half of Monticello all day yesterday and may still be out now and we lost power here for about 3 hours. The boys had a bunch of their friends over who's homes didn't have power so we had a house full of teenage boys doing the crazy things teenagers do like going in and out the door to play in the snow making our furnace work overtime. We lost power at around 1 pm but that didn't keep their friends from coming over to hang out. Our house basically got trashed due to all the teen traffic but that's OK because they're a bunch of fun loving teens who know how to have fun and not do something stupid while doing it.
