I will raise my hand because I am not great at wrapping presents. I used to be when I had a lot of practice but today I am not doing so well.

So who else cannot wrap presents well?

I'll raise my hand...but not for me...for my DH:D It looks like a 2 year old does it when he helps.

I will confess, I have went and rewrapped some that he has wrapped before...I can't have that under my pretty tree.;) He never notices either...LOL

My DH uses ducktape and half a roll of paper to wrap one box, so he is terrible, the only gifts he is allowed to wrap are mine. I do the rest of the wrapping, and do a good job, my corners are neat and tidy, I use very little tape, but don't take the effort to put all the pretty bows and such on, UNLESS it's for someone outside the family. I actually enjoy wrapping:cwds:

Holding hand firmly down by my side - worked my way through college at a bunch of posh Madison Ave shops - spent hours at the gift wrap table. You got it, I can wrap it! :p

And Teddi, I agree. Good paper makes all the difference, which is not to say that I splurge on the good stuff, but it is nicer to work with. My favorite ribbon comes from the Christmas Tree shop, doesn't come cheaper than that!

I am a great wrapper. I worked in high school and part of college as a personal assistant for a very wealthy family. They actually had a wrapping room in their house, just for wrapping presents. There was a huge closet with a lock to store all the gifts, rolls of paper and ribbon like a department store, and drawers full of everything you would ever need to wrap gifts. I was taught how to make intricate bows and how to mark everything with a special code for each recipient. I spent hours and hours wrapping gifts in that room. I dream of my own wrapping room one day :D.

I'm actually a very good wrapper. One time around Christmas I bought a book as a gift at Barnes and Noble and they were supposed to have free gift wrapping but the people who were supposed to do it weren't there. I think they were volunteers. All the stuff to do wrapping was there so I asked if I could use the stuff and do it myself. They said I could so I wrapped the book and put a Barnes and Noble sticker and a bow on it. Other customers assumed I was working there and came up to the table to get their books wrapped. I didn't let on that I wasn't there for that, I just wrapped books for awhile. People thanked me and commented on how good of a job I had done.:D

I AM NOT GOOD AT ALL. I GET TIRED AND NEVER CAN GET THE TAPE TO COOPERATE.

BUT I DO LOVE TO SHOP - AND I DO LOVE TO PUT THEM UNDER THE TREE SO I SUFFER THROUGH.:o

I'm so bad that the gift I ordered for Sharon last night, I spent an extra $10 to make sure it comes already gift wrapped. Yeah I know that to some it means more if the spouse goes out of their way to wrap it themselves even if they suck at it but I look at it this way, Sharon's worth every penny of it...... so there.:p

I try, I really do. But I am only just passable at wrapping. Carl is much neater and better so if possible, I get him to do it all!

I have to chime in and say that I, too LOVE to wrap !!

I'm ususally on a pretty tight budget.....so.....my gifts are sometimes smaller on the WOW factor than others....so....I try to WOW with the presentation !!LOL

I buy all my paper after Christmas....get 75-90% discount and I use the real wired ribbon to tie it up. I store it all away for the following year I also splurge ( try to buy after christmas ) on pretty gift tags.

All my paper & ribbons match....no crazy paper ...god forbid no cartoon charactars in Christmas Garb !! LOL

It is truly the ONLY thing I am neurotic about....I swear ~~

and I have learned to CHILL when my kids wrap their gifts.......because they don't share my neurotic tendency for wrapping !

I stink at it. I hate bows and ribbons. I just power though it with messy ends and crooked cutting. I used to drive my mom crazy, since I am so sloppy.

My mom is an awesome present wrapper, but my dad... thats another story. He just puts presents in paper bags (if that) and throws them to us on Christmas.

I'm one of those OCD Martha Stewart type wrappers. Every year there is a "theme" and each family has it's own theme (So I know easily which goes to DH's side at Xmas eve and my side on Xmas day). Satin ribbons on the grown up's gifts and everything. Psycho.

I'm the exact same way. I drive my husband insane. Santa's presents even have a theme by child. We went back to DC for Thanksgiving and I literally spent hours playing in the wrapping paper and packaging at The Container Store. I am not sure my husband would have married me if he knew I was this neurotic about the way presents are wrapped!
