Hi
I haven't posted much on the site recently, although I have been reading the posts.
I started a new job 7 weeks ago, which is going really well. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
So, we've had to get used to new regimes, in terms of after school child care etc, as I now work longer hours than I did previously.
It's going well, I just have to be very very prepared and organised and have contingencies in place for every eventuality whilst I am at work.
Ben is still coping well with his diabetes, although I do think the 'honeymonn' has come to an end. His blood sugar levels have been going up and up and we've been increasing his insulin more and more. We're getting there though and he's a lot more in range now than he was a few weeks ago. I also think the lack of activity during these winter months is a contributory factor.
We have Drs appointment on Tuesday and I'm expecting a much higher A1C than previous. (Last one was 6.9)
Anyway, last week I had a new boss start......and she is Type 1 Diabetic!!! How cool is that....now finally when I talk blood sugar levels/A1C/Hypo/Hyper/keytones/honeymoon/carbs/routines/hospital appointments I've got somebody who TRULY understands..........I'm so pleased.
She's also inspired me...she has had diabetes now for 40 years, has had very good control, and has no long term complications. She was diagnosed at the age of 11.
I wanted to share that with you all.
:)
