Our doctor uses either that, or something similar.

I used those once before they took them off the market for awhile. Our lab does only the big blood draw from the arm for the a1c and this freaks William out. I did this type of "home" test and compared it to our lab results and they were within .2 of each other (or .1 - very close).
I am hoping to be able to buy these again soon. Is any place actually selling them to consumers?

Our clinic has a machine that gives you your A1c on the spot with a fingerstick sample from the child's own glucometer. They compare results to a lab blood draw annually I think just to confirm the accuracy of their machine. It's great -- you find out right away.

I guess my question should have been if they are being packaged for individual sale? I've only seen them sold in multi-packages (like of 10). It seems like you get one meter and 10 tests so you cannot split them among more than one person. And there was something about them needing to be in the refrigerator or used in a short time or something. I looked into getting them a few months ago and ruled it out because of something.
They used to be sold one kit at a time for about $25-30.

In June, I was told that that this website would soon be selling 2 tests to a pack.

Ok, I just called their 800# and found out that Bayer purchased Metrika. Right now, the test has a one year shelf life if refigerated, but only a 3-month shelf life if left out at room temperature. I was told that Bayer is testing to extend the room temp. shelf like to one year. And, when they do this they will most likely begin selling the test in packs of 2. The *quesstimated* cost for the 2 test pack would be around $40.00. The *quesstimated* wait time for this to come to market is about 6 months.
