For those of you who do this, how much per month and who do you go through. I'm fighting my insurance company for a navigator but if that doesn't work out and I have to pay out of pocket, I will be considering Dexcom 7.
Actually, all of these threads on the Navigator are kind of creepin' me out. ;)

We actually we still love the Navigator. We had three bad sensors but we are 'supposed' to get them next week. They are supposed to ship tomorrow from Abbott. I think no matte rwho you go with you can have bad sensors. I am sticking with the Navigator until another CGM has a 5mm sensor and directional arrows. I know Minimed has the arrows. I need to have one I can insert in the arms and there is no way I can put that needle from the Minimed in my skinny kids arm. I also wanted a seperate receiver. So, Navigator is the only one that fits the bill right now.
I pay $78 after insurance for one box of sensors. It would be $390 without insurance. I only use the recommended 5 days. Some people go longer.

I pay out of pocket for my dexcom stuff. It cost me about 550 initially to start. The sensors cost 60 dollars each. I generally get 2 to 3 weeks sometimes more out of a sensor. I order a new box of sensors when I put the last sensor in. I have been on it continuously since March 13, 2008. I have been through a total of 4.9 boxes of sensors. I still have one sensor left on the 5th box. I would buy opsite flexifix tape to hold the sites on.

We pay out of pocket for the dexcom. 1 box of sensors is $251.00 for us. That is 4 sensors which lasts us, normally 2 months at least. I order when we are down to our last sensor.
We use nothing else for placement such as tape or anything.
The handheld unit cost us around $500.00. They do have sales so ask when ordering.
We use spibelts to hold the handheld unit.
