I just wanted to mention that on one of our Navigators that when putting in new battteries it takes some wiggling of the batteries to get it to come on. I didn't think it would come on. It is like the contacts are not quite right. How did yours quit working?

I haven't noticed that battery issue.
Ours just upped and died. It was working fine - Oliver left the room for a while. It alarmed because it lost the connection. I went to find him to reconnect and it just couldn't find the transmitter. While I was trying to reconnect, the menus started being very slow to respond, and it would take a long time to "wake up" again once it had timed out. And then it wouldn't recognize test strips anymore. I would put a strip in, and the screen would just go blank.
It was all very weird and sudden.
Wasn't Heidi's some kind of battery issue?

Ours was a battery issue ... sort of. Tx battery was fine but receiver battery had a message to change batteries, even though just days before we were at 50-75% and it hadn't even been 30 days. So they changed out the batteries and the receiver came on, but still showed that batteries needed to be changed and kept giving stupid error messages. So they went through several packs of batteries (including a brand new one from the store) thinking their batteries were all old. Nothing made a difference. I was still able to upload her data from the Nav to my computer and it seemed to be functioning, but it kept giving us a low battery message and another sensor message. For about a week prior to this we also saw really off numbers, accuracy-wise. Her BG would be 78 and it would say she was 130. We also had an entire day where we couldn't calibrate. I think the thing just totally lost its mind.

Heidi,
Have they shipped your new system yet?

Nope. I called today. I swear I've spoken with at least 5 different people at Abbott today. They kept telling me that the units came off of back order on Nov. 7 (last Friday I believe). But at the same time they couldn't tell me the status of my replacement unit. I kept directly asking them if there were any units available for shipping and kept getting the same answer, "well it says they came off back order on the 7th". Great. That's not what I asked. I spoke with several supervisors from both Abbott Technologies and and Abbott Diabetes Resource Center and I'm awaiting a call back from a supervisor who is supposed to be able to tell me something tomorrow. I have been assured that as soon as units are available I will be the first to receive one. But I'll believe it when I see it. In the meantime I am going to call them every day until I get an answer.

I am so frustrated for you guys. I really feel sorry for what they are doing to you.
Today I had to call abbot because my transmitter would not "reconnect" after taking a break from wearing the sensor for a couple of days.
So, the representative told me to read off the SN on the receiver, which was some CRAZY serial number like "AATXX-XXXXX", which obviously was not my transmitter's SN. All transmitters are an "AAH" number.
So, I take off the the transmitter, and I look for the serial number on the transmitter, and it doesn't match. At this point of time, the rep is shocked and has never heard of this happening before.
So, I unlink the transmitter, and then I relink. The proper ID shows up this time, and now I am up and running.
But anyways, the rep was going to write a formal report about this weird incident. It shouldn't of happened.

That is really strange. Was the number wrong in the receiver when you go under status then receiver? I have unlinked and relinked a different transmitter and the new transmitter number appeared under the system status then transmitter status on the receiver. I don't understand if it was different how it could have ever worked.

Yeah, it gave me a totally different number on the receiver under the status menu. I am dead serious. I was shocked, too. Not only did the SN have a T in it, it had random numbers, too.

Monica - that is totally bizarre!
