I am asking those of you who are on a continues monitor of some sorts:

In the morning, about how much time after the start of the breakfast does your monitor record the highest post-meal reading? (Please, also include in your reply usually when you bolus for breakfast -- 20, 15, 10 min in advance, at the time of eating etc.)

Thanks.

We dont [yet?] have a con mon.
Postmeal highs in mu not-so-humble opinion happen ~60 minutes after meal.
We bolus 15 minutes prior to the meals.
We'll probabely and very very carefully see if we can bolus 18minutes before meals. It's quite tricky/seducing to bolus 20 minutes before meals but i may cause premeal lows.

I bolus about half of the insulin at the start of the meal, not ahead of time, and give small boluses throughout to match the carbs she eats.
Her post meal spike peaks at one hour, with a dramatic drop 15-30 minutes later that brings her back into range.

Why?
Just curious.

Elena's peak after meals is 60-75 minutes later usually, especially with breakfst. We try to prebolus breakfast by 15-20 minutes, and don't need to with the other meals.
