We have tried it all (various skin prep wipes, creams, tapes etc) and the Navigator tape and sensor site still makes Mia sooooooo itchy by day 2 . She just wants to rip it off her skin :(. Also, the tape still comes loose and needs retaping with Opsite several times during the 5 day period, or it wont stay on.

Anyone else with ongoing issues??

If you have to use the Navigator-i.e if you can switch to another system that might be an answer. With the Navigator all I can think of to do is to get some 100% cotton wipes or balls attach to the sensor tape, insert the sensor and then cover the whole thing with another tape. Try washing first with Hibiclens, wipe the Hibi off with water, wipe with cotton wipe, then apply sensor (with tape covered with the cotton wipes), cover whole thing with clear or paper tape. I will at time react to alcohol wipes so try not using those. Good luck. Sounds like something your Endo team might be able to work with you on along with a dermatologist. Ali

The skin tac was causing itching for us. I just use the IV Prep wipes and when needed (usually by day 4) I cut off any loose tape and put new opsite on. I make sure to put the IV Prep underneath the tape because it helps make a barrier to their skin.
In the past when they said it was a little itchy it didn't last but a few minutes. I would put corisone cream around the tape . Our NP said she put the hydrocorisone cream right on top of her tape when it gets itchy. SHe wears the Minimed CGM. Maybe the new tape Abbott is using will come out soon!

Samantha hasn't reported itching. We were having tape issues with opsite and tegaderm (& nexcare active waterproof skin cover). But surprisingly IV 3000 sticks the best for Samantha. I have been using that exclusively for the last 2 sensors. I know opsite and IV3000 are supposed to be the same thing, but they're not. The opsite I tried had no texture to it, while the IV3000 did. I am not sure what it is about IV 300 that works for us, but it definitely works.

Thank you, all. We have not found the perfect solution yet. Using IV prep does seem to help. We have tried the IV 3000 tape, and we don't get enough stickiness from it. I will review the suggestions with my endo. Thanks again.
