hey guys
just a quick question, i have been having some odd symptoms and wanted to know if anyone has experienced these with diagnosis of diabetes? i don't think it sounds like diabetes to me but just wanted to ask anyway......
-very dark circles under eyes
- pale
- extreme fatigue
- muscle weakness, limbs and neck feel "limp" alot of the time, at times, after eating
- repeated infections of the finger, recurrent UTI's, gum infections
- leg pain
- constant stomach problems, cramping, pain, diahrea (have had for years, diagnosed with IBS and endometriosis)
had an episode of extreme thirst about a year ago, drinking about 9 700ml bottles of water a day but only for a couple of days...not in the heat either. i thought that was weird...but it went away.
*have had a fasting BGL test recently and it was normal (4.3) so i doubt its diabetes
*test also showed very very mild low iron but have been taking iron tablets for 2 months now and no improvement in symptoms.
dont want to sound like a hypochondriac but these things are really interferring with my daily life and i want to find a solution. any ideas?? maybe just a loooonnnng holiday from the full time job???? lol

You can get 8 hours of sleep and they can be not good sleep. Maybe you should have a sleep study done, 'cuz you sound sleep deprived to me.

i usually wake up ok in terms of tiredness and go downhill quickly throughout the morning. thats a good point tho. very frustrating, perhaps ill try that. thanks
I would have a complete blood work up done. Probably nothing but you want to rule out, thyroid, blood cancers!!,other auto imune diseases, low vit. B. Rule all the bad stuff out and then work on the sleep studies and the depression stuff. Good luck. Ali

my dd had dark circles under her eyes, slept for hours, but never rested. I always had to get her up, unwillingly, for school, no matter how much sleep she got. It turned out she had hypothyroid. Now its mostly gone since medication.
I'd look up chronic fatigue syndrome. There is even a CFS hypogylecmia version I've heard.
goodluck! hope you get answers soon

Doing a fasting blood glucose can be completely misleading. You should ask your doctor to a random blood glucose test, and eat pancakes syrup and orange juice before. I have heard it referred to as the IHOP test, by parents of 1 child with D who wanted to confirm a diagnosis in another child.
I specifically had muscle cramping as a pre-diagnosis symptom, usually I would wake up in the middle of the night with severe cramps in the backs of my lower legs.

I looked back at your message history and realized you have a partner with type 1. I would start testing your blood sugar with his meter, he may have an extra one he can give you and some strips. Test it at least once after a meal, or eating something high in sugar. About an hour after eating those items would be ideal.

Well I'm no doc, but what I'd look at would be:
Adrenal function/adrenal fatigue
Hypothyroid
Reactive Hypoglycemia
Maybe do a search on these and see if any resonate. Lots of the symptoms cross over... then there are probably other things to consider too. But these leap out at me at the initial reading of your post.

celiac can show at anytime (did you have these symptoms when you had the colonoscopy?) just like D.. just cuz' you tested neg. once for it, doesn't mean it'll always be neg. also, as far as I know they need to do an endoscopy, not a colonoscopy to look for Celiac because its in the small intestines.
you obviously have something going on.. I would also suggest a random glucose test and not just a fasting one.
