In August 2009 the CWD.com team from the US will be holding their first UK Friends For Life Conference, it will bring parents and children the opportunities for contact with others living with diabetes. Here they will find a level of understanding that is frequently lacking in their everyday lives and be able to hear about the latest in diabetes management and research as well as sharing the emotional challenges of living with diabetes.

When:
August 14 -16, 2009 Friday evening until Sunday
Venue:
Beaumont House in Old Windsor, Berkshire.

Since it seems we won't be able to attend the FFL in the US, and the UK is a hop and a skip from us (and way cheaper), you might just see us there.
Are non-UKers allowed to come?:D
How far is it from London?

Hi The conference is going to be held in Old Windsor which is fairly close to London. Within easy reach of the M3, M4 and M25; 15 minutes from London Heathrow Airport, and 5 minutes from Egham and Windsor railway stations.

If you go to the link for the venue you can find more map directions. Where are you coming from. Yes the conference is open to families coming from elsewhere they dont have to be from the UK. Are from the US living but living elsewhere?

I live in Luxembourg, and no I'm not from the US (did live there a long time ago).
I'm thinking to go for 1 day or maybe 2. We'll be taking the Eurostar from Brussels, and then figuring out a way, maybe another train, the tube or a taxi to the conference.

You probably have to book for the whole time its from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon. I assume that some people who come from further away will book the hotel for longer and do some sightseeing while they are down London way.
