My string bean 11 y/o son has only been able to get a pod to work on his belly but there is only so much real estate in that area. We have tried and failed every week to get a leg or arm site to work.

Any helpful advice??? I'm calling Omnipod and emailing his CDE to see if they have anything to offer but thought I would try here also.

Thank you for your time! :cwds:

We use belly and thigh exclusively and we have no problems. We just rotate the sites between the 4 and rotate the pod 180 degrees on each site.

My son, Antievil, read my post and wanted me to clarify.
For one, he is 12.
Two, yes we change his pod every three days and we have tried his leg twice and arm once. We've only been podding for a month.

At one time, CJ...I mean Antievil once had a Lipoatrophy (great CWD dictionary by the way!!) in his tummy so I really worry about that happening again.

Every time we tried to set up his pod on arm or leg he says it hurts. So we are probably striking a nerve in addition to the pre-teen fear of the pod actually being visible to other pre-teens and teens.

Like everything else we'll figure this out...secretly wondering if there was a way to donate him five pounds of fatty tissue from some of my prime real estate. :p

Thanks again!

Daniel has been using thigh - sort of inner thigh but not so far in that his other leg rubs it - he does take after me somewhat and does have some meat on his legs. I think his stomach will be the problem for us as he has very little fat there but we won't try there until after football is over. Just keep trying and be sure to pinch when inserting.

We use arms often(my daughters favorite right now), belly and butt.
We do cannula facing up only though on the arm. More towards the back of the arm for placement. We prepinch and go.

Sometimes initial pain on placement but not through the whole time. Is your sons pain at the beginning or throughout wear?
