We pulled this one out of Mia's arm this morning after the unit failed to let us do our first calibration... No wonder:eek:!!!

PS. Abbott is sending us a new sensor as replacement...

Sorry that happened!

Was the end of the sensor in the skin? It looks like it was. Wonder if you hit something like muscle?? I have had a bend end of the sensor but it was bent at the top where it goes in. What happened to us is that the tape had gotten loose after a game and I did not 'fix' it soon enough. I fixed it that night by putting more opsite on top after cutting the loose away. It soon began reading low numbers with a straight down arrow. It checked with a BG meter and it was not true. It finally got to 'low' and asked if I had removed the sensor. I pulled the sensor and saw that when I retaped down it must have already been out of the skin and I pressed it down 90 degree when I put on the tape. Yours doesn't look like ours did.

Oh no!!! That doesn't look pretty! Did it hurt Mia at all?

Well, it didn't feel "right" to Mia but it didn't hurt, either. She just kept saying that she knew it will be a bad sensor. I held on to my last hope and tried it all night anyways (after getting multiple calibration errors and codes). I will learn to listen better next time!!
