Matthew had his flu shot yesterday. He really hadn't eaten all afternoon. Prior to that I got him a treat at the gas station (a roll and flavored coffee) We bolused for both. Then around dinner time, he took his BG and it was 401:eek:

He corrected. We calculated carbs and did a carbsmart for it. He still continued to climb. He was 501:eek: He had mild ketones too.

We chased highs all night long. I continued to monitor them, thinking it was the site, but he did keep dropping with each test. Finally around 1:30 a.m. his numbers were low enough where I could stop worrying and get some sleep.

This a.m. he woke up at 150. WHEW!

I know many others have written about the flu shot and not had any problems. I wonder if it was a combination of the roll, coffee and flu shot???

Any guesses?

Hey, Emily!
Teagan received her flu shot (#2 since it was her first time for the flu shot) Monday and ran on the high side all day yesterday. I am wondering if it was the flu shot that kept her higher (200's). If it wan't the flu shot, I'm thinking it was that we needed to switch to a new Novolog bottle--been a month and a half:eek: !

I did hear it was warmed in MN than FL yesterday. I suppose everyone in FL was in sweaters while everyone in MN was in short sleeves and shorts! :D Suppose to be warm again today in MN. I think I'll get the rest of the Christmas lights up--better do it now before it snows and the roof is icey. Not good!

Well it's "good" to hear that the shot might cause the highs. At least I can track why. Matthew is never that high since pumping.

Everyone is cutting grass, washing cars, putting up lights, etc. My husband is going to go in the pool! BRRR. I used to swim in northern MN lakes with 70 degree water, now I won't go in the pool unless the water temp is 84 or more! LOL:D

Have a great day!!!!

Abby had hers yesterday also, and ran high for the rest of the day. I don't know if it is the shot that actually caused the highs or if it was the anxiety of it, combined with the hour car ride coming home.

We're seeing better numbers today.
