Ultra smart recall

I just recived a package in the mail from lifescan. The batteries in some Ultra smart meters that were shipped out in 2005 are leaking causing damage to the battery contacts. Lifescan is sending out new batteries, and replacing meters that have any damage.

Thanks for the update. Eventhough I believe we have changed our batteries, I'll check to see if there's any leakage from the original batteries.

I called OneTouch about control solution. They were the ones who told me about the recall. I told them I had already switched the batteries out, and their response was, we were the ones who gave you defective batteries, we stand by our product, so we'll send you a new set. So, not only did I get a free bottle of control solution, I got new batteries too.


Just an FYI, if you're using the UltraSmart and the control solution is blue, you're using the wrong kind.
