So, I think our school nurse (who is awesome) is starting to really like the Navigator.
I sent Oliver to school without it one day this week, and everyone was immediately nervous about "flying blind" all day. She requested a few extra checks just to make sure he was okay :) She hated the idea of him going to PE/recess back to back with no low alarms. I reminded her we did it this way last year every single day! It was funny. Of course, I agreed with her. It was very disconcerting not having that extra security.
Then yesterday, the projected low alarm went off at school. It was the first time she had ever seen a down arrow, and it was straight down. She checked him (he was 79). She juiced him up and came back in 30 minutes - and he had come up all the way to 84! She made the comment to me later that it was amazing to see how little his BG came up with the down arrows compared to when he was just drifting down with the sideways arrows - and that she needed to think about those kinds of lows differently. :D Pretty cool!
