I hestitated to post this because sometimes I post things that I guess are obvious to others...
Since we have been using his minimed cgms, we have eliminated his lows - no longer do we have 30's 40's, etc. I think since June we may have been in the 60's one time...which is completely incredible. Now that I have that issue a little more under control, I have been focusing on the highs.
I really don't think his ratios or basal are off, I think I am overcorrecting now that I don't have any lows. What use to work - 12-15 carb snack, now really sends him higher. I know this should have been obvious but I guess I was just use to what we have been doing the past year and didn't realize until I really looked over the data. He also got use to snacking at night if he was below 120 and now I let him go to bed in the 100's without a snack and he says steady (for now) just fine.
I have really been watching how many carbs I am giving him when he is low or before he goes to sports practice, etc. and it appears to be helping. I go to the endo next week and am anxious to see if his A1C has gone up or if it stays the same without the lows!
