Hi I have a question.... I use insulin needles and I'm supposed to rotate the sites, which I do... But the question is: What kind of lumps do you get from not rotating the site? Is it just like your arm would be bumpy if you gave yourself the needles there or would you actully get lumps on your arms?
Any answers (ASAP) would be great!! Thank you!

"Injection Site Rotation
Changing the places on the body where a person injects insulin. Changing the injection site keeps lumps or small dents from forming in the skin. These lumps or dents are called lipodystrophies. However, people should try to use the same body area for injections that are given at the same time each day-for example, always using the stomach for the morning injection or an arm for the evening injection. Using the same body area for these routine injections lessens the possibility of changes in the timing and action of insulin."
This is from the CWD website. There is a lot of information on this site about just about anything D related.
When I was younger I didn't get the lumps but I got the indentations in my arms. I always used my arms and nowhere else. The good news is that after I stopped using my arms the indentations did fill in (can't remember how long it took). On my legs now I don't have lumps but I do notice that my most favourite spots are somewhat "thicker" but not noticeable to the eye. Good to rotate, but when you are taking 6 - 8 shots a day its can sometimes be hard to do it in the same general area or limb for each given shot.

I only got a lump because I injected there several times over the course of a few months. But rotate anyway and you shouldnt get any. Sometimes you get a small lump after removing the needle but it goes down. :p

Thanks! I noticed I did get a lump after injecting it in the same spots a couple of times, so I was worried. Thanks again!
