Hey, this might sound silly coming from a girl buuut - I played football in Jr.High A LOT with the guys. And pretty much I made sure that I checked b4 I played a game and had a snack even if I was a little high - because it is VERY physically demanding and I have found that the adrenaline causes my blood sugar to rise during and for a little while after the game - but if i didn't have a snack before hand, i'd be low for sure very shortly thereafter. I usually check every break we're allowed, and anyother time I feel "funny." Otherwise - I just make sure the people around me know about it and what to do if i'm going kinda silly or for me a major symptom of being low is having no energy and being really weak - then people are very aware especially in football. I dunno if this helps, but yeah. Have lotsa fun at it!

Our 11 year old son played league football for the last two years. He would test before and then take off his pump for the game. He also was always high afterward due to the adrenaline pumping during the game. We have never tested or snacked during the game, just made sure he ate his regular meals. We were a little more careful during the weeks of practice before the games, we would snack before practice every time, always have juice on hand, and never left the practice field - just in case.
