BODY MECHANICS(TM) the World's FIRST Superhero Entertainment Brand Dedicated to Improving Children's Health Debuts Action-Packed Movie and DVD Game to Fight Childhood Obesity

NEW YORK, Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The widely anticipated and highly touted BODY MECHANICS(TM), a new children's property aimed at showing children that their bodies are ALIVE and the importance of a healthy lifestyle, announces their worldwide debut in the US with an action adventure 2-disc set including the Body Mechanics(TM) movie and interactive DVD game available at http://www.bodymechanics.tv for $24.95.
Based on the premise that children want to be entertained, not preached to, the Body Mechanics(TM) superheroes use fun and entertaining ways to tell the story of a war going on inside the body. This classic storyline of good vs. evil unfolds in "Escape from OBEEZ CITY" with the heroic Body Mechanics(TM), a team of "good" guys such as Soolyn (Insulin) and Gluke (glucagon), working to fight The Evil Coalition of Harm and Disease. They are a team of "bad" guys, responsible for the obesity crisis, that include Beetez II (diabetes 2) and Col Esterol (cholesterol). Children learn the importance of proper diet and exercise in a highly compelling manner.
The Body Mechanics(TM) has received advanced praise from well-respected and trusted health experts such as Dr. Mehmet Oz, father and world-renowned cardiac surgeon, regular guest on OPRAH and founder of Health Corps, who explained, "I enjoyed the innovative and educational aspects of the Body Mechanics(TM), but more importantly, my kids loved the characters in the animated movie and began role playing the characters. I knew the Body Mechanics(TM) had communicated the content effectively when my 6 year old began spraying me with cholesterol."
Tony Findlay, the producer, writer, and director of the Body Mechanics(TM) said, "Being the creator of a brand passionate about helping improve the well- being of children all over the world is an incredible position and one that I cherish. Our goal is simple -- create ways to show children that their bodies are LIVING THINGS. Once you see that happen, the children then ENTHUSIASTICALLY become part of the solution!"
The highly credentialed advisory board of the Body Mechanics(TM) includes well-respected health professionals such as Dr. Mehmet Oz, MD FACS, Dr. Francine Kaufman, MD, one of the world's leading authorities on diabetes and Dr. Butch Rosser, MD FACS, who plays the role of "Dr Bludd" in the DVD movie.
To date, the Body Mechanics(TM) has formed partnerships with Oz's Health Corps, combined with Touro College and Councilman Joel Rivera, to provide NEW curriculum based content using the Body Mechanics Superheroes for the Health Corps programs in New York City elementary schools and the tri-state area.
Bill Jemas, CEO of 360ep, and Body Mechanics(TM) brand agent for licensing and merchandising opportunities said, "After years as President at Marvel Enterprises, I recognize the talent behind Body Mechanics(TM) who have created characters that are unique, cool and fun and promote a healthy lifestyle to kids in this unique manner. We see Body Mechanics(TM) as the next major entertainment brand -- the true Superheroes of the human body." Along with 360ep, the Body Mechanics(TM) is scheduled to release a series of comic books and board games in 2007.
Body Mechanics(TM) as a business is focused on entertainment, education and experiences to create a NEW Family Language for Health and is wholly owned by Big Red Frog Limited. Thats cool!! I had mentioned to my nonD daughter a couple months ago that it would be cool to have a diabetic kid on the Sims game then you would have all the responsibilities of taking care of that child and their disease maybe then more people would understand what we parents go through and maybe some kids wouldnt be so cruel to kids that have it. Sounded like a great idea to me:D

Another great game is Dance Dance Revolution, which works with all the major game consoles. Every kid I know likes it, including my big kids (like Marissa).
