DH is out of town so Im solo for all D duties and I dont like it so Ive secured the sitter to help me 2morrow w/ a site change cuz Im not ready to do it alone. The rest I will be fine.

Dinner with Samuel was difficult. I tried to go easy with PB&J but it wasnt working. I had to push him alot to get 38 carbs in but I did and I bolused him and all is good. Pre-dinner BG was 113 and post dinner (2hr check) BG was 153. LOVE IT!

We have 2 goldfish in a tiny aquarium and it was time to feed them. I lifted both boys onto the stools to watch the fish eat. While they are sitting there Samuel says to James 'I luuh uuu'. James looks at me, then Samuel and looks back to me. His facial expression is very confused like.. 'Really?' I dont believe what Im hearing either. I jump in and tell James that Samuel is telling him that he loves him. James melts and leans over to hug Samuel and nearly falls off the stool. I caught him and scooted them closer together and they hug and kiss and hug and kiss. James and Samuel each take turns telling each other 'I love you'. Then they look at me and start saying it! Then the tears flowed. They have always been loveable but this was pure mush. Im still surprised. This went on for several minutes. They have never been like this to each other for so long. I know its the pump. Samuels #s have never been so good and Im so grateful.

Right now. They are sitting on the floor next to me playing with the Elmo medical kit. Samuel is sitting quietly while James is checking his blood pressure. Then the play thermometer comes out and Samuel plays along. Soooo nice. Oh wait. Now they are playing tug of war with the Elmo kit and screaming. Bliss is over. LOL

It was fun while it lasted!

Aaawwww. Thanks for sharing.

I remember when Nathan started pumping. I think that the change in his mood is what made my husband decide that the change to a pump what the right way to go. It's amazing.

It's amazing how they can melt your heart one moment and having you tearing at your own hair the next. My boys are sometimes very lovey dovey with each other but it usually quickly deteriorates into wrestling.

Ah, boys.

Cherish those mushy moments while they're sweet little innocent babes. My boys quickly digressed into wrestling and bodily function noises. :p

Was that the first time that Samuel said "I love you" to his brother? If so, that's really a neat moment. Congrats!

I'd give anything for sibling bliss. We don't see a lot of that at our house. Boy and girl just shy of 10 years apart. They have nothing in common but the house they live in and who's their Mom.
It sounds precious! :)

Im just amazed. No sooner were they fighting over the toy they were kissing and making up. I swear its cuz Samuel has better #s. I havent seen this before. Samuel usually has horns and a scowl but his #s have been averaging in the mid 100s more often lately and hes so playful.. James has always been a sweetheart and loveable. There were times when Samuel would be painfully mean and James would look so sad. Now, with pumping its different. Samuel talks about his pump. He seems proud of it and you know that he really has no idea what it is or what its for. He 'talks' better and tries so hard to get his point across. i would swear that his huge sway of #s slowed him down or allowed him very little care of trying to learn.

I understand why Childrens MC kept a reign on us for moving too quick in learning Diabetes. Too soon too fast makes uneducated learning and risks. I can live with that. I just wish we could have gotten to this point sooner. My boys are still toddlers and still have toddlers temperaments and issues BUT the difference pumping has made so far is priceless.

That is precious!! Those are wonderful moments to cherish! Especially when they are at each other's throats later! :)

My sister noticed that Kylie was very huggy and loving this summer and commented on it. We decided that she must be just feeling so better since dx that this is how she is when she's feeling good. It made me sad that she felt so bad before, but happy that things are looking up. Glad Samuel is feeling so good! :)
