When I was at the Diabetes UK Annual Conference in Glasgow, I came across BBI healthcare displaying some bright orange boxes. I noticed them from the other side of the Exhibition hall. They are the size of a school lunch box and contain GlucoTabs, HypoGel, 15 grams of fast acting carb drink x 3 and there is a space for a glucagen injection kit (the Glucagen kit is not included when you buy a box. The little drinks in the box are going to be sold as GlucoJuice and sold in Boots and Asda and should be in the shops by late September early October. There is also a really good treatment pathway plan in the box and a hypo record book.
I managed to get in contact with the firm a couple of weeks ago and a number of parents from the mailing list have now bought these boxes for school. They seem to have the effect of making school take diabetes more seriously for once!!
You can find the details about the boxes and how to enquire about, or order a box on the UK CWD web site

or contact BBI If you require any further information call Sian Edwards 01792 229333 . or email info@hypobox.com
