I can't cook. :( DH usually makes dinner every night. (How awesome is that?) When we first married him in 2001, my oldest daughter said, "Allen brings something new to the table.... ah... flavor."

Ok, so now they expect all their meals to include flavor. He's ruined me. I brought them up to believe food was flavor free, moist free, and pleasure free. Now look. They can't for a week just revert back to the way they used to eat... what's up with that?

...throwing something in the crockpot and running for the hills now...

God bless you. My husband also does all the cooking, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas, which belong to me. The kids love his cooking. I have a few different ways of doing things, and it's hit or miss with the kids. So I feel your pain.

If Ratatouille can cook, so can you. :) You can do it, we can help! ;)

Anybody have a rat?

Maybe, but that's not the flavor you are looking for...

No, she wants Racoon! I have one that has dumped my trash all over the yard for 3 days. I'm happy to donate him to the cause!! And Bozzie will have a cute little coon cap just like Daniel Boone.

Why don't you let your kids make the meal????;)

Hehe, make a big huge salad bar. It's easy, and you do not have to worry about the flavor.

Ok, I've posted it in another thread, but here it goes again...

Toasts, any way, shape or form. Two slices of bread, whole wheat, put tomatoes and cheese and ham or chicken or turkey cold cuts, and toast. Add a salad or a soup even. Voilá!!
Get those ready-made pie crusts, add whatever, 2 whole beaten eggs, some herbs and spices, oven, finished.
I'm a terrible cook, but the above work always.

It would probably be quite similar to the flavor of everything else I'm serving up this week... if you ask the kids.

I actually tried that. Bozzie spit it out. The other kids were good with it.

fish sticks and tater tots. Sorry this came to mind since we had it last night for dinner. put parsley, garlic, natures seasoning in whatever you cook and you have flavor. Use garlic powder not the garlic salt because it is to salty. I also use krazy janes mixed up salt but it is hard to find. I haven't had anyone complain to many times with my cooking. And I WON'T let my DH cook He never rinses the noodles when he cooks and he hasn't cooked for over 16 years now.

I was taught Italian ways, NEVER rinse noodles, you lose the flavour and the sticky for the sauces!

Thank god he'll be home tomorrow. Only two more nights of cooking... so the kids are laughing at me right now saying, "This is exactly the sort of thing Allen expected! hahahahahah!"

You know I thought premade frozen turkey burgers would be a cinch. Do you know they put paper between every two? Do you further know that the paper is frozen solid in there? I couldn't pry it apart with a knife. :o So I have four turkey patties effectively thawing in the frying pan... well I guess I have two right now since they're stuck together.... guess I'll pull that paper out of there once they soften up a bit......

If you ever need a vacation and want to go to the Mojave Desert holler at me..You can come to my house and I will teach you how to cook..I managed to teach my 15 year old son to cook and he would burn water :D Now he can hold his own in the kitchen.

lol. Thanks! Where are you? I'm technically in the mojave here.

My 12 year old son actually took over in the kitchen in the end. :o

Oh okay...The Mojave is HUGE!! If you google China Lake you will see where I am at..At the moment I live across the street from the Naval bombing range

Bombing! Nice... If you google Spring Valley Lake, you'll see where I am... I live across the street from a golf course. The only thing flying at me here are golf balls. :D (There's a house across the street that has taken some bad hits... lol.)
