My son's friend was over to dinner the other day and as Aaron bolused for dinner he said, "It kills me that that thing doesn't have games on it!"

They started fantasizing. My son says, "Yeah, it would be so easy. Forget continuous glucose monitoring -- You could play Pong on your pump! Just picture it: some little kid who was scared of getting a pump, finds out he can play games on it and is won over. He's lying in bed before lights out playing away. He looks up and says, "Mommy, I love my pump! It's so fun!"

Can text messaging be far behind??? lol

Games on the pump! That would be great to have. Even a calculator would be nice.

As another funny thing kids can do: My son uses a flip-cover on his Animas pump. It literally flips open with a flick of the wrist.

Since we are Star Trek fans, he made a joke by flipping it open and saying into it, "Beam me up, Scotty."

I guess you would need to see this to find it funny.

Games could be dangerous, lol. Other kids would want to play, and would steer with the pump, and pull it loose :D Plus, what would you ever do if you had to ground your child from video games? Can't take the pump away, lol. I am just teasing. I think pumps need to be more kid friendly, and cool. Great ideas, you should email the pump companies and suggest it!

I think it would be awsoem to have music on it, like an ipod or something you know? And texting would not be a bad thing either

They've come a long way since I started on one. I used to say things like :I wish it had a light on it, I wish it would figure my carb ratio for me, I wish it had alarms to remind me to check". My paradigm 712 now has all of that but it's funny that I can still think of so many things they should add to it or change.

The only problem with the iPump or games on the pump would be the mix between the AMA (American Medical Association) and toys. Though games would be fun many issues and debates would arise over insurance policies.

I would LOVE to have a pup that is a:
insulin pump
continous glucose sensor
meter
cell phone
ipod
and gaming system

Then I would barely carry anything around with me...

LOL!
