Hello,

I was reading a post here and noticed that you live in New Hampshire and that your daughter was diagnosed in June. We live in New Hampshire as well and my daughter was diagnosed in May. Do you go to the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth? If so, maybe we will see you at the support group in March.

Just wanted to say "Hi" to another person from New Hampshire, who is going through the same thing our family is:cwds:

Hi, thanks for the message. No, we go to the Joslin down in Boston. We live in Amherst, and I was just noticing there is a support group at the Y in Merrimack. Is that the one you go to? If so, when does it meet?

Hi Wendy,

Nice to meet someone from New Hampshire. We go to the Children's Hospital At Dartmouth ( Ch@d). We go there every 3 months for my daughter's tests and follow up visits with her endo team. She and her brother have lunch with all the other children her age who have diabetes and their siblings, and they have a children's support group. And my husband and I are in another room with all the parents and have lunch and listen to a speaker and have a support group.

We have only been to one so far and are looking forward to the next one in March. I haven't been to any other support groups and have looked on line for one in our area, but haven't been able to find one. We live about 90 mins from Merrimack , so that is a bit far to travel, so we are still looking for a closer one and hope we can locate one.

We put our application into the Barton Center camp in Oxford Massachusetts on January 18th, but so far we haven't heard back from them to find out if we were able to get in. I was told that this camp was a wonderful place for my daughter to meet other children her age who have diabetes and it is a camp where the entire family can go to learn and share about life with diabetes. I hope we are able to get in.

Let me know if you find a support group in New Hampshire, maybe I need to look into starting one, as I would really like to talk with other people who truly understand..

Nice to "meet" you!:cwds:
