OK... so now after 5 days of lows that can only be explained by the fact that she is now producing her own insulin/ NO other symtoms or anything/ we had a ok day with numbers only because i ahve increased carb ratios to things like 45/1 and 35/1.. she is getting 9 units of insulin per day total. thats it..... EVEN her endos tell me that based of what been happeing her numbers an that she can eat 30+ carbs with no insulin and stay normal........NOW SHE IS PUKING. so far pefect numbers.. no ketones.. we will see how the night goes... SO what ever this 3rd honeymoon is or what ever it may be short lived ( getting sick may be a blessing in discise...) I dislike these short mini honeymoon thingys that make no sence and do nothing but play mind games on you...

Ugh - poor kid! What a rollercoaster she's on right now - and you, too!! I hope she's feeling better soon and that the ketostix stay negative.

I can only imagine how exasperating all this is - just when we think we've got it all figured out, something changes and it all goes wacky again! :(

You take care - hopefully the worst will be over soon and you'll all get some rest.

You have probably been fighting illness for a few days. That is what happens to us when we get lots of lows....

Keep checking for ketones and keep hydrating.... I will pray that you stay away from ketones!!!

Fun, fun, fun!! The joys of D....

Oh NO!! You poor things!:( What else?
I fear puking like nothing else on earth! I really hope you guys get through it unscathed.

Keep us posted on her progress, and bizarre lack of needing insulin. I'm still a bit stumped by that!

Oh Chandra, I am so sorry Charlize is so ill. I hope the puking stops. That is my worst fear. I hope Charlize is feeling better soon, and that you are able to get SOME rest.

Low bood sugars usually precede a viral illness by about 3-4 days. The intestinal tract does not absorb nutrients and food as well right before a virus that causes vomiting or diarreah. The lower blood sugar levels will probably continue for about 7 days after the illness.

I'm so sorry for you both.

Joey never really honeymooned so I can only imagine how frustrating it is (plus I would have some false hope that the dx was a "mistake").

I hope that you are past the worst of it. :cwds:
