View Full Version : Transporting Humulin N... How careful must we be?

I know you shouldn't shake it... but what about my 10 year old carrying it around in his pack? Is that movement (possible running, dropping, knocking against furniture etc) too much for the insulin?

Just wondering... I'm new to ALL of this.

NPH should be left at home, IMHO. It is a delicate insulin and bouncing around is not good for it.

When my son was on NPH, he had shots in the morning and evening.

If your son needs an NPH injection while out, perhaps you ought to fill a syringe and have him carry it in a case of some sort.
