RA, and diabetes?

Does anyone know if there is an increased risk of having RA if you have T1 diabetes?

While the article claims that the finding doesn't indicate an increased risk, I think that the authors are misinterpretting the data; people with one allele for diabetes there and one for MS or arthritis would be at a higher risk for both because they wouldn't have any protective, functioning alleles.
