Hello
Saw the link for this site in the balance magazine, also was mentioned to me by someone else as they had also seen it.
I am mum to 3 children, my eldest was diagnosed with type one a year ago today. He is 6yrs old now and on insulin twice a day.
This first year has been very tough on us all, especially when he went back to school last september not long after the diagnosis.
The school have been excellent though. They know what to do with him and call me if they are ever unsure or there is a problem.

Hi Lorraine, welcome to CWD. This is the website mentioned by Kate in Balance but the list Kate mentioned is actually the UK mailing list.
Unfortunately this is a very quiet forum (UK) but the mailing list has about 150 members. If you choose mailing lists and then UK it shows you how to join or if you look at older posts Jackie Jacombs ( list manager)has also given instructions. If it is difficult, Jackie has given an email where she will subscribe you directly.
Hope you join Lorraine, I have found it a great support since I sighed up in November. :)
Best wishes to all the family,
GAmom

Hi Lorraine,
So sorry that you have to come on here but on a positive note we can all help you, wether thats give you tips...info...or just be here for you when things get tough we are all in a similar situation. As mentioned in a earlier post, this is a very quiet site (UK) but there are always people around all over the world to answer any questions you may have.
Going back to school after dx'd is a VERY diffucult time for all the family, i can remember as if it were yesterday that i could have kept Jack home forever! (i still have days like that now) Its still tough now after 2 yrs...school starts back on the 2nd September & i am dreading it!!
Feel free to get in touch anytime!!
What insulin is Charlie on?
