I have a Glucowatch that my son used for 2 weeks in January 2003. I'd like to get rid of it (it was terrible and completely inaccurate). I don't really want to throw it away because it was so expensive (fortunately our insurance paid at 100%). Ebay won't let me sell it because it's prescription only. Does anyone know a good place to donate it to, or how to legally sell it? I have everything it came with except for one of the rechargable batteries. However, I do not have any of the autosensors. Those are also by prescription only and come seperately.

No offence, but I'm just thinking, if it was "terrible and completely inaccurate" maybe donating it isn't a kindness?

You might send it back to the company with a letter of complaint!

There are some people who successfully use the Glucowatch. The reason it was "terrible and completely innacurate" for us was that at the time, Carson was 2 years old (not just children). His blood sugars went up and down faster than the Glucowatch was designed to keep up with. I talked at length with the customer support center and this was a common problem with many people using it. Carson also had bad eczema on his arms and legs at that age and you cannot wear the watch on spots where you have eczema. (And by the way, for those of you who are going to remind me that the Glucowatch was not approved for children that young, we knew that too. And the customer support center said that his age had nothing to do with our problems using it -- it was because his blood sugars went up and down so fast.)

The watch itself is not broken and am hoping it can go to someone who is successful using one or donate it to a college or clinic that wants to learn about it's technology.

I was hoping to be of service to someone by offering a product that we don't use or need, not to be reprimanded for wanting to help another family, clinic, or student.

I apologize for not posting this sooner -- the glucowatch is no longer available.
