Hello all!
I am picking out a pump for my 3yr old and we are leaning towards the cozmo with animus in a close 2nd. I am reading all of these posts and is hardly no one using the cozmo? I am looking for a very easy pump that can easily be taught to teachers and people who shy away from the technology of cell phones.
Let me know what your thoughts are
thanks

Both have their ups and downs, it's just up to you. I found neither one any non-tech friendlier, but I'm a geek, so I honestly have problems with seeing where someone not so techie might get along with a device easier. You just have to consider what you're looking for and play with them both to test it yourself.

We chose the Animas because it can give such little increments of insulin. Our son is 11 but with your son being 4, insulin amount might be an issue. Be sure your pump can accomadate minute changes.

I know the Cosmo I think has a lock down feature where little ones can't be pushing buttons accidentally. I don't think Animas has that feature.

Animas does have a lot of screens, and sub-screens to go through but once it is set up, it is pretty intuitive.

I personally thought the Cosmo was huge and dorky looking and found the Animas to be very small, sleek and thin. My son just slips it into this "cargo pants" and no one even knows he is wearing a pump. No bulges at all. Hope this helps.

The IR1250 does have the lock-out feature. You just hold the up and down buttons for a second or two to put it in lock-out, and do the same to put it back in normal mode.
