My son doesn't go back for another month, but I know it's time for most universities and colleges to start soon.
How's everyone doing? :cwds::cwds::cwds::cwds:

School here starts a week from Monday. Steven is registered and ready to go. I think I am having a bigger issue that he is going to be staying home this year instead of away. He seems fine with it, but I watch all his friends getting ready to go off and it makes me sad that the medical situation got in the way.
Don't get me wrong, I love having him home and mama-ing him. I just know probably without the the thyroid and D he would be closer to the road to independence. I want him to have a normal and successful life.
Enough about me... how is everyone else doing?

I have been out of college for a few years now, but around this time I always start missing it. I had such a great time and learned so much while attending school, both about diabetes and college in general. I am a much better person because I went away to school.

My son goes off for the first time a week from today. Manditory freshman move in day. Classes start m 8/25.
I am a bit nervous. I worry about things like if he is so low he doesn't wake up, who will know that and give him his juice box? He's in a quad, so he'll have three guys with him. If I give them a schpeil, my son would NEVER forgive me. I don't know what he's going to say to them.
On another side, the guilty side, I am so looking forward to him going away. My name is "water" and though I love him more than I could even convey, his name is "oil". or vice versa, no matter - no matter how much we shake the bottle, we don't mix that well.
I have one specific d question, which I'll start a thread for to get opinions.

My son, Alex, left this morning (4:30 am!) to fly to OR for college. I haven't heard from him yet. He should call any minute now to say he's gotten there. His freshman orientation starts on Wed and classes start on Mon. I couldn't go with him right now b/c I just took a week off (this past week) to go on vacation. So, he flew out with his gf and her mom and I will fly out on Friday to make sure we get everything else he needs and get him settled.
I'm sure he'll do fine but I wish he was closer to home (we're in VA).
