So this was the first day back to school for Haley, she was sick last week. We had a good morning, she ate her breakfast, got her dressed, and didn't fuse about me brushing her hair (yea right:p ). We got the backpack and lunchbox together got our coats on and ready to head out the door. I happened to walk back into the kitchen for what ever reason and noticed the NPH still sitting where I had placed earlier that morning, and remembered that we didn't do a shot. I can tell you with all honesty that is first time in almost 2 years that has happened. I am not an anal person at all, so I tend to forget things and miss place things, but the insulin I do tend to remember, all I can think is something made me go back into the kitchen;). Man oh man I hope that I don't forget to give her insulin one day!

Just thought I would share that :D

If you do forget about the shot one day, don't beat yourself up!
I've forgotten more than once to give M her shot; both Lantus, and Novolog. (Thankfully, not at the same time!)

We've also overdosed her on Novolog more than once; mistakes in counting carbs, then another time drawing up the wrong insulin (giving a Lantus=sized dose of Novolog....when its 12 or 14 units, that's a LOT of carbs to make up!).

I think I am going to start a poll on whether or not you've missed a shot or bolus...I still think that almost everyone has at one time or another.

The good news is that by missing a shot, they certainly can't go low!

forgetting the bolus AND forgetting that I'd already done it.

Thank goodness CGM buzzes at me before things get too far out of whack.
