Hello,
My 3 yr old who was dx at 2 has gotten pretty used to th injections. He is in others care (mom/preschool) for a god portion of the day. He is also on lantis and novalog. his numbers are very up down. (we are also tring to control that) Well I am hearing alot of good things aboutthe pump such as better control, injections are easier for sitters/grandparents, and less "ouch mommy" times. Which do yo guys perfer the pump or the syrenge (Spelling)
Thanks for your imput

I'm getting really tired of sseeing bruised all over Hunter's arms, butt and legs for 6 shots a day. Hunter finally agreed to a pump and it's on order. His numbers have been really crazy lately so I hope the pump helps us. his endo. nurse is T1 [since age 7] and pumps. She is so for the pump and alot of people here are too.

Ben will be 3 in December and has been pumping Minimed for over 18 months.

:D WE LOVE IT!!!!!!!:D

It not only improves bg's but it also offers much more flexibility as regards food, sleep and activity.
These days Ben can lie in if he wants to, he can eat whenever and whatever he wants (within reason of course..;)), he can play with his friends without me following him around trying to make him eat a snack.

He is healthier and happier these days. And I'm delighted that I dont have to hold him down and inject him anymore. He gets a site change every 2-3 days and that's it!

Bg checks have been cut down, hospital stays have been reduced, Mealtime is no longer a battle field, family members are more comfortable helping out, no more awkward injections in restaurants, no more sugar free rations at parties etc...

I just can't explain how wonderful the pump has been for us. :)

I hope you look into it further for your son. The younger they are, the bigger the benefits. It will completely change your life.
It is a lot of work and the first few weeks are intensive but it is SO worthwhile....

Take care.

Logan has been on his pump now for about two months and I have to say I wish we would have done it sooner. His numbers have been great and he can be a "normal" little boy again. Befor on the injections we were on such a tight schedule it was hard to do anything else. you always had to plan a meal in if you were going to be gone for a little while. Now he can have whatever he wants whenever he wants. If he wnats a piece of candy we can give it to him. The one thing I have noticed is that he does get more ketones now and I am going to post a question about that. Good luck to you on making you decision.:cwds:
